IMPACT ROUND SELECTION:
It has been suggested that having “lots of tools” in the toolbox is the best way to increase the likelihood of operational success. However, experience has shown that with impact projectiles, the opposite is true. Simplicity is the key. Agencies should procure the least variety of impact projectiles required to accomplish perceived objectives and place a high priority on proper training and frequent practice in order that the operator establish a clear and consistent understanding of the impact projectiles capabilities and limitations.
